Ozzy & Friends
TheJudasMaster (Thu, 24 May 2012 22:48:37)
My favourite band forever, that's for sure
Cyrynek (Thu, 24 May 2012 21:35:53)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c78lez8P0gc I wish I was at this gig so much!
PunkyFunkyDucky (Thu, 24 May 2012 19:52:00)
I mean this best band I've ever listened to. I've got their first three albums on vinyl. The Ozzy Osbourne Era was just amazing.
PunkyFunkyDucky (Thu, 24 May 2012 19:22:13)
Instead of getting a best of, you can get the first four albums in sexy digipaks for like a fiver each on amazon.
yugman (Thu, 24 May 2012 14:42:07)
The Best.
PunkyFunkyDucky (Thu, 24 May 2012 12:55:11)
A track like When Death Calls deserves to be on a Sabbath best of. The new compilation is just a quick and easy cash grab. You need to possess the first 6 albums from the Ozzy-era anyway :)
Killed-By-Death (Thu, 24 May 2012 08:46:22)
(compilation that is)
MikeySchenker (Thu, 24 May 2012 05:30:25)
Oh how I would LOVE to see a decent compiltion from all era's. They all seem to concentrate on one or sometimes two (Dio and Ozzy).
Sabbath is ore than that. A nice 2 cd collection from all era's would do justice to that.
MikeySchenker (Wed, 23 May 2012 22:29:02)
I have to agree about the 'Best Of's' how many do they need??? All basically tracks from
the first four albums anyway. How about an affordable 'Black Box' with music from all the albums, instead of being stuck in the 70's?

I am Iron maaaaaaan do do do do do ... dodododododo ;D umad @thompsonjohn ?

If Black Sabbath goes on tour and comes near me without Bill, I'll still gladly do anything I can to see them. Sure, it would be a little better if Bill was involved just like it would've been better if I could've seen Judas Priest with KK Downing but it's still Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. What metal fan would say no to that?
IBrokeTheOath (Wed, 23 May 2012 17:32:23)
" pleasing the masses kills the joy in music for me"- agreed, black Sabbath will come out with yet another " best of" cd. With about 12 or 13 songs that are on the last best of.
schism66 (Wed, 23 May 2012 17:00:31)
Not much of that going on here either, but when there is rock, they are always playing these songs. And ALWAYS that bleeding horrible S&M version of Nothing else, makes me want to slap Hetfield in the face, terrible terrible performance. Anyway, it is all personal ofcours, still fine songs... just for me they have lost that bit of magic...
MikeySchenker (Wed, 23 May 2012 14:45:46)
In the U.K you never hear much rock on the radio anyway, its pretty much chart orientated shite, so its still a breath of fresh air to hear most of the aforementioned tracks anyway.
"how can anyone stand to choose to listen to it more than once? It's so boring. " it's subjective, I wouldn't choose to listen to Winds Of Plague, doesn't mean they are bad though.

Black Sabbath live review at MetalTalk.net http://metaltalk.net/columns/20100134.php
Yellowxander (Wed, 23 May 2012 09:09:09)
Radio killed a lot of music for me, still does.
Those "obvious songs" at home, I pretty much always skip: Iron Man, Paranoid, Nothing Else Matters, Bohemian Rapsody.
And even in Rockbars songs like Raining Blood, Ace Of Spades and Hallowed Be Thy Name I can't stand to hear anymore.
Pleasing the masses kills the joy in music for me.
MikeySchenker (Wed, 23 May 2012 08:48:17)
I love the song Iron Man i listen to it everyday. Not even radio can ruin that song for me.
veyita_88 (Wed, 23 May 2012 03:41:48)
How can people stand to listen to "Iron Man" more than one time? Given the radio plays it gets I'm sure almost everyone has heard it a few times in their car but how can anyone stand to choose to listen to it more than once? It's so boring.
thompsonjohn (Wed, 23 May 2012 01:41:10)
Well, I never lose respect for them...
Rockdrigo_666 (Tue, 22 May 2012 18:58:08)
Let's see how the story unfolds and see on whose side the right is. I think Bill is right. Anyway, the setlist for the first show was great, shame that Tony got ill I would go see them even w/o Bill if they toured somewhere near Poland

"Sabbath is the definition of doom metal" Not really, but for sure the main influence I guess...
MikeySchenker (Sun, 20 May 2012 20:17:14)
I don't know if Bill really requested him to be removed from the images, but if it's not truth it's really a great excuse.
octopuss22 (Sun, 20 May 2012 18:17:46)
the only reason the tag "doom metal" isn't the main tag is because it would rustle the jimmies of dad rockers everywhere. people get scared when metal is thrown into the mix. [2] early Sabbath is the definition of doom metal!
HardRokas (Sun, 20 May 2012 17:29:29)
guh that was amazing
DrianIommi (Sun, 20 May 2012 16:36:54)
People crying about how they don't like this band because bill is money hungry is just retarded... I'll be seeing Black Sabbath at download and I will be fucked up and enjoying myself.

Two sides to every story, seems like Bill wanted paying for last nights charity gig, when the others were doing it for free

Also this: '"At the request of Bill Ward, through his attorney, so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current Black Sabbath lineup, we have temporarily removed Bill Ward's images from the main pages of the blacksabbath.com official website. In accordance with Bill Ward's attorney's request, we are doing so for the duration of the forthcoming shows." BLACK SABBATH'

Word on the street is that Angelo Sasso's brother will be replacing Ward.
