Grammy-Gewinner John Shanks hat Etheridges zehntes Oeuvre produziert. Er ist ein alter Weggefährte, früher war Shanks der Gitarrist ihrer Band. Nach Etheridges 1999er-Album Breakdown stieg er als Produzent in die Top-Liga des US-Poprocks auf, gab Ashlee Simpson, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette und Bon Jovi ihren Sound.
Laut Rolling Stone machte Etheridge eine klare Ansage, als sie Shanks erstmals wieder traf, um das neue Album zu besprechen: „Ich sagte ihm, ich wollte eine Platte, die 100 Meilen pro Stunde schafft und dabei alle meine bisherigen Einflüsse mitnimmt“, so Etheridge. Fazit: „So hart habe ich lang nicht mehr gerockt.“ Fearless Love ist ein kühnes Bekenntnis zur Liebe ohne Furcht. „I need a fearless love, I won’t settle for anything less“, singt sie auf dem Titelsong und gleichzeitig ersten Single des neuen Albums

I've never been a fan, but I really like her music, also her latest album. During the concert she seemed like a nice and sweet woman, but I totally agree with what you're saying.. I hate the way Melissa seems to handle the divorce, from what I read in the media and on Tammy's blog. What happened to speaking true..?

I have been a fan of Melissa's for 10 years, but not anymore. She is a hypocrit singing about fearless love and all those things when going through a nasty divorce. Are a family and children not enough? What a player. Practise what you preach, Melissa!
