For accessible (and not as an insult) Jarrett, try 'My Song' (1978), 'Belonging' (1974) and 'Expectations' (1972). 'Facing You' (1971) is a tricky one to get into, but it has the classic 'Lalene' on it, which every Jarrett fan should hear. Happy listening :)

yo folks i'm looking for advice: i LOVE the koeln concerts, but i haven't been able to find any other jarrett that i like nearly so much. i've tried the vienna concerts and staircase. any suggestions?

Before Sun Bear, try Solo Concerts (aka Bremen/Lausanne) or the Vienna Concert. The former is jazzier, the latter a little more 'neo-classical'. Both are absolutely excellent. Sun Bear is also exceptional, but it is a lot to digest and not, when judged minute-for-minute, up to the brilliance of those other two solo performances.
