...also, what the titty fuck i missed the portland show. what a golden (missed) opportunity. i'm working on his album 'unlimited' right now. i like to start out with early albums first whenever i discover a new artist. (i've come to realize - for most artists - after the first three albums or so released, they lose creative control and go into sell out mode by crumbling to the label's wishes and creating more 'radio-friendly' tracks.)

I saw Jimmy Cliff once and it was almost a religious experience. He came out, sat down with his drum and the whole room was silent and waiting. He started to play and by the end of the show (even though it was seating only) people rushed the stage to be close to him. What an amazing man and performer! Everyone in the room was high on Jimmy...
